ever wonder how, like, stuff gets stuck in your head? for the past week or so i've had brand new day from the ending of the wiz stuck in my head. "can you... feel a... brand new day!!!!" perhaps it's my subconscious trying to convince me that i'll do ok on my gmats. don't forget: the volume of a sphere is 4/3 times pi times the radius cubed!!!

i really can't stand the radio, like, really. i hear it about every six months or so when i'm on a road trip, and i hear the same songs from six months prior being played over and over and over again. "modern rock" radio is one long buzzing fridge, top 40 radio is one long star search competition, and hip hop has become all bling bling, no think-ing. if it wasn't for the internet, house and techno would be dominating my listening even more than it does now, so news like this has me kind of upset. why, in the middle of the "information age", with more music available to the public than ever before, does it feel like our ability to make our own choices in what we listen to is being hindered as much as possible?

it's not often that something completely random happens at work that changes your day around. today while getting my morning coffee i passed by something that can only be described as a futuristic go-go dancer cage. what made this thing even stranger is that it had a compaq logo on it. i'm convinced there's a rave going on in the office tonight.

my generation seems to be defined by our unrelenting appetite for nostalgia. today's example: the transformers. these darn things pretty much controlled my life for most of elementary school, and evidently for others, they still do. season one of the original cartoon show is about to be re-released on dvd by rhino, and a whole bunch of people in my age group are about to realize that the show really didn't make any sense. that and the voices get really annoying after a while. they could still kick the go-bots' ass though!!!!

kylie minogue's "can't get you out of my head" won't get out of my head. pure catchier than the common cold pop perfection. remember when vanessa sang karaeoke to the "locomotion" on the cosby show?
